Our Ambassadors are veteran amputees and limb impaired people who represent us in your local area.

They represent Limbcare for what we stand for and are readily available for you in your area for advice, information and assistance.

Ambassador for Chelmsford & Surrounding Areas

Paul Houghton

I have been Access Officer for Chelmsford City Council and an Access Consultant since July 2002.

I am honoured that Ray, a man I deeply admire, has asked me to represent Limbcare in Essex - a task I am proud to do. I am here to support and offer advice to those who need it in my area.

Mike Prickett

I am a no nonsense double amputee, who will help anyone who has an amputation but especially anyone who is about to go under the knife. I believe that the most important time to talk to a new amputee is before they have the amputation and I will visit or talk to anyone I can help.

I am proud and delighted to become ambassador for Kent on behalf of Limbcare. I am here to support and offer advice to those who need it in my area.

Kelly Jackson

I lost my leg in a terrible car crash in May 2013. Since then I have made so many cool friends on social media and have read so many interesting books, like Amy Purdy's 'On My Own Two Feet'. She proves that life does go on after limb loss, and you can make it through.

I'm very pleased to be helping such an important charity. Limbcare offer help and guidance for being like me - living with an amputation. I am here to support and offer advice to those who need it in my area.

I was feeling down and looking for something, and discovered that after attending a private lecture from Ray Edwards MBE, it would be Limbcare. I am willing to give the organisation a good go in Northern Ireland.

Alan Taylor

I was born in 1955 and have been an amputee since losing my right leg in 2010. I live in the lovely Airdrie, near Coatbridge, where the Coatbridge Monarchs and Tigers raced.

I am very proud to be associated with Limbcare and become their Ambassador to Scotland for this proactive and caring charity, which offers so much help and support to all amputees, limb impaired, their families, carers and friends. I am here to support and offer advice to those who need it in my area.

James Wilson

I've been a below knee amputee since 2006. I'm extremely independent and stubborn when I need to be! I have designed and built my own legs for scuba diving and spent years travelling on my own and diving at some of the best locations in the world.

Limbcare understand how frustrating life can be as an amputee. They are very empathetic to everyone's situations and can provide very practical advice and support. I am here to support and offer advice to those who need it in my area.

Christine Mitchell

In 1982, I became a single below knee amputee, having elected to have my amputation because of the difficulties I was experiencing through my major disability, which is Spina Bifida. As a disabled person I have a lifetime of direct experience of living with a disability.

I am proud to have been asked to be an Ambassador for Limbcare. I am here to support and offer advice to those who need it in my area.

Tracy Kitto

At 13 years of age, when riding as a pillion passenger, I was involved in a motorbike accident. The immediate result of this was the loss of my left heel. Amputation was considered at the time, but with the help of a determined orthopaedic surgeon and a plastic surgeon willing to attempt skin grafting, the remainder of my foot was saved.

At 50 years of age, following issues with the skin graft breaking down, complications following routine arthroscopy, osteomyelitis, acute arthritis and the subsequent severe restriction to my mobility, I elected for a below knee amputation.

I am privileged to represent Limbcare as their Ambassador in my local area. I am here to support and offer advice to those who need it in my area.

Ian Sproat

I had an accident at work in 2006, in which my left arm was crushed. The nerves in my arm were damaged and, even though I returned to work four months later, my arm deteriorated and became more painful and weaker over the next few months.

I was an HGV driver and lost my licence 12 months after the accident, due to my inability to carry out many aspects of my job. Losing my HGV licence was a disaster for me.

I am privileged to represent Limbcare as their Ambassador in my local area. I am here to support and offer advice to those who need it in my area.
